2012! A year of transformations!

A turtle peeking out from its shell. Slowly and steadily. New realizations and new awarenesses touching my soul. Experienced new places, cultures and perspectives. Thinking outside the box. Learned to let go just a little. Able to open up my palm with some ease. Nature, a blissful experience. Emptying out my closets.

Effective communication a key to any and every relationship. Speaking from the heart. Truth hurts a lot. Seeing myself in the mirror differently. Embracing my shadows - easier said than done. Avoidance keeps you rooted in the same spot. Consistency takes effort.

It is not always about you. Putting yourself in the other person’s shoes.Try and than try again. Choice empowers! Acceptance comes after going through many stages. The difference between I want to verses I have to.

Love does soften hearts. You can only control your own happiness. Be still and hear the silence. Time and again I am grateful. Dream and some more. Faith is the pillar that you build upon. The sun always rises up. Seek and you shall find. Light at the end of the tunnel. A unique spark that shines. Now is all that you have. Dear God, thank you!

Is slowly falling down from the heavens above
Feeling as soft as a newborn’s skin
Looking as glittery as flakes of gold
Falling steadily hour by hour
Covering the earth under its blanket!

It is everywhere around me
On top of the rooftops to the asphalt under my feet
On each branch of the tree to the individual leaf
It tickles my nose and makes me smile in glee!

From the cars crawling on the streets
To the families enjoying the coziness on the couches
The warm cups of hot chocolates in the hands

September 1, 2012. 

Woke up in the morning at a leisurely pace. Made a spontaneous decision to go for a drive with my sister. Took the scenic route along lakeshore road to Burlington. Picked up fresh peaches and coronation grapes along the way. Had an authentic lunch at 'Fournos' in the town of Niagara-on-the-lake. Continued driving to Niagara Falls  while capturing memories. Enjoyed the caressing mist of the Falls on our faces. Kept driving towards Fort Erie. Chose a quiet spot along the lake witnessing a beautiful sunset and a mesmerizing moon rise. A few entries in my journal under today's date. A heart to heart conversation with my sister while listening to the lapping water and fluttering leaves in the wind. A heavenly day! Truly blessed! Amazing Soul Therapy! Thank you God!

It is early Saturday morning
Beautiful grey skies across the horizon
The nature in its blissful mood
Welcoming with its soft and cool breeze
The raindrops just starting to fall
The rolled down window of my car
A few drops touching my face
The wind flowing through my hair
The lovely smell of mud
The drops turning into a downpour
The leaves looking fresh
The grass even greener
A sigh of contentment
Feeling the blessing of nature
A smile curved on my face!

The seconds have turned into hours

The hours have turned into days

The days have turned into weeks

The weeks are about to turn into a month

It has been that long of a time since I have last seen you

I cannot explain what it is, that I feel for you

I cannot explain why is it that I miss you

Change!

There used to be a time in my life, when I used to pray to God and ask for what I wanted and desired. I used to be stubborn, hot headed and rigid. Today, I have come to the realization that I have changed over the past few years. Now, I pray to God and ask for what is for my highest and the best. I still have my dreams, hopes, visions and desires, but I also know that there is a path and a plan on which I am walking and who would know what is the best option for me than the 'Higher Power'. I still stumble from time to time when I get drawn in the whirlpool of emotions, yet each time I find beside me a messenger, a friend, a quote, a book, an experience, a realization, an awareness which brings me back to the present and makes me realize that the Universe knows what is best for me and I will only get what is right at that moment in time. Dear God, thank you for bringing the change in me.

Woke up with a melodramatic feeling. My last day in India on this trip. The trip was thoroughly enjoyed. The people, the experiences, the growing, the learnings, meeting family, making new friends, catching up with old ones, the hot weather, the sweat that covers your body, the cold breezes, the drives up the mountains, the beaches and the sunsets, the crashing waves, the sand underneath your feet, the glow of the moon, seeing new hopes and dreams, letting go of the baggages that are no longer needed, the busy cities, the silent villages, the individuals who created a spot in my heart, the memories which will last a lifetime, the love of friends, the generosity of strangers, the humbleness that you feel within, the hugs, the melodious laughers, the shrieks of joy, the silent tears, the sitting in silence, the ever strong support systems, the talk through your eyes, the unwavering faith, the variety in foods, the happiness in the little moments, the overwhelming feeling, the overall experience, I am grateful for each and every moment. I will miss you all, each and every one of you. Thank you universe for everything. Till next time. Will be back soon.

Change and Transformation are both different, they are not one and the same.
Change is reversible and Transformation is not.
Change is a New Year's resolution which is made on January 1st. It last for a few days, months and you fall back into your old pattern. You decided to bring about a change and it lasted for a few days.
Change is from a smoker to a non-smoker and the possibility to become a smoker again.

Transformation is a caterpillar turning into a butterfly which can never be a caterpillar again.
Transformation is a stone becoming a statue, which will never be a stone again.
Transformation is your own past becoming like someone else's past and it will never be yours again.
Transformation is Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi becoming Mahatama Gandhi and never being Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi again.
Transformation is beyond your control.

Giving!

Something that I learned today.
Any relationship that you have...whether it is a friend, mother, father, spouse, children or relatives....
Go into any relationship with the focus on what you can give and not what you can receive.
What you receive in that relationship will be the by product. Let the other person decide what you will receive.
If you wait for the world to reach out to you and to give to you - you will keep on waiting. Go out and give, give with the purest of your hearts and the whole world will give back to you. It is an automatic process.
