A Birthday Poem I wrote for my friend - For her Aunt

Today is a day to celebrate

To celebrate the beautiful you

The beauty that emits out of your soul

And the warmth surrounds you

You are like my aunt and also like my friend

You guide me through the rough patches

And support me as a friend

You smile makes my day

You hugs fill me with warmth

You give so much and take so less

I would be lost without you and your love

Whom would I talk to and with whom would I share

All the things that bother me some here and some over there

I am so grateful for your love and guidance

It has shaped the last few years of my life

I would not be the person I am today if it were not for you

So my dear Sally, my aunt and my friend

I want to wish you a Very Happy Birthday

May the sun always shine upon you

May the stars twinkle their blessings

May the moon hide you in its shadows when needed

May you flourish and prosper!

How do you see yourself?

Do you see yourself the way this Universe sees you?

The smile that adorns your face

The ripples created from your laugher

The diamonds that sparkle in your eyes

The bounce in your feet

The warmth in your hugs

The love that flows from your heart

The compassion that you feel in your body

The generosity that flow from your hands

The concern for your loved ones

The support you offer through your shoulders

The challenges that you face day to day

The anger and sadness that you feel 

The fears and doubts that make you run away

The confrontations that make you cringe 

The darkness through the tunnels

The loneliness that you feel from time to time

The lost ways through the labyrinths 

The struggles that you pave away

The courage that you show

The balancing act that you do

The empowerment that you draw from within

The shining light at the end of the tunnel

The visions for hopes and dreams

One more step than where you were yesterday

A story that you share which is unique in its own way

Just the way this Universe sees you!

Silence, all I feel is silence around me.

Yet, there is chaos and only chaos

Within me, surrounding me and consuming me

I am not sure from where my life beings

I am not sure where my life ends

I was always surrounded in the cocoon of your arms

Now, I am stripped and completely bare

Nothing makes sense to me

My heart is beating so fast

My eyes have not stopped their rain

I am being engulfed in my pain!

Slowly the light seems to fade away

My feet have begin to slow their steps

My soul is being slowly withering away

My heart is cracking each & every minute

My life seems to fade away

I dwell in the darkest of the night

With no sign of light

My faith is slowing fading 

My steps are wavering

The light within me has diminished

Leaving me in complete darkness!

Life!
Is defined by how you live it!
What inspires you?
What motivates you?
What gets you moving?
Where lies your passion?
What freezes you in your tracks?
What makes you perform the same mistakes again and again?
Do you catch yourself, when you see yourself falling off the wagon?
Do you love yourself, when you feel the void within you?
Where lies your power? Within you or outside of your reach?
Do you nourish yourself each and every day?
Good food, good people, good thoughts!
Small steps leading to larger goals!
Positive thoughts which lead to positive actions
The nurturing voice in your head which gives you reassurance
The gentleness with which you treat yourself
A determination which originates from within you
A never-ending passion which makes you feel alive
The wings of freedom attached to your shoulders
A sense of faith, trust and belonging
Seeing far beyond the 20/20 vision!
Life!
There is so much more to life than what you see!
Life!
Is defined by how you live it!

Reality!
What you see is not what it is in reality!
A picture is painted in front of you
Or should I say you paint the picture the way you want it to be
You only see what is acceptable to you
You only feel as much as you can handle
And you make that your reality!
A reality, which is in your comfort zone
A reality, which can keep you sane
A reality, which you can digest
A reality, which makes you blame the other
A reality, which sets you free!
But are you really free?

The light is always shining for you! It surrounds you by being ahead of you, beside you and even as you backtrack a few steps. If you look within you..will see its brightness the most! Just open your eyes and see the light!

2012! A year of transformations!

A turtle peeking out from its shell. Slowly and steadily. New realizations and new awarenesses touching my soul. Experienced new places, cultures and perspectives. Thinking outside the box. Learned to let go just a little. Able to open up my palm with some ease. Nature, a blissful experience. Emptying out my closets.

Effective communication a key to any and every relationship. Speaking from the heart. Truth hurts a lot. Seeing myself in the mirror differently. Embracing my shadows - easier said than done. Avoidance keeps you rooted in the same spot. Consistency takes effort.

It is not always about you. Putting yourself in the other person’s shoes.Try and than try again. Choice empowers! Acceptance comes after going through many stages. The difference between I want to verses I have to.

Love does soften hearts. You can only control your own happiness. Be still and hear the silence. Time and again I am grateful. Dream and some more. Faith is the pillar that you build upon. The sun always rises up. Seek and you shall find. Light at the end of the tunnel. A unique spark that shines. Now is all that you have. Dear God, thank you!
